The Criminal Investigations Division (“CID”) is primarily responsible for the investigation of non-drug-related felony offenses.  CID investigators may also investigate misdemeanor offenses on occasion.

CID is led by a lieutenant and a sergeant.  CID has a domestic violence investigator who conducts follow up investigations and provides victim assistance for domestic violence offenses.  The unit also has a crime scene investigator and a state-of-the-art crime scene response vehicle.

CID investigators have the same basic training as patrol deputies and receive advanced training on such subjects as homicide investigations, interviews and interrogations, and crime scene investigative techniques.
